How to make perfect Granola every time
The secret to great granola is just the right amount of liquid and the low, slow heat to crisp up the oats and nuts while leaving the amazing flavors behind on the granola.
Preheat your oven to 250°F.
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir well until evenly mixed. (This is my favorite part, only 1 bowl to clean!)
Spread the granola thinly out onto 2 rimmed baking sheets. Dark or light baking sheets will work.
Bake for 45 minutes, then stir and switch the baking sheets around. Bake for another 45 minutes. The granola will crisp up a bit more once it cools. Once fully cooled, feel free to add dried fruits, chocolate chips, chia seeds or any of your favorite additives.
Breakfast many ways
Try this granola with a sliced banana topped with peanut butter and honey and cinnamon for an awesome gluten-free breakfast with plenty of protein to keep you going. One of my favorites!
It’s also wonderful on top of vanilla yogurt with whatever fruit you have on hand. My favorite is blueberries and fresh pineapple.
Customize your granola however you want!
This is great because it is really just a base and you can add ingredients as you see fit or depending on what you have on hand. Last batch I made had extra coconut, pecans, walnuts, and almonds. If I am out of nuts I forgo them altogether. Sometimes I put dried cranberries or chocolate chips. The sky really is the limit with what you add. And I love the fact that I control the amount of sugar in this.
