Creamy Orange Cinnamon Sandwiches — 5 ingredients & 5 minutes

    By 2 Comments

These little orange cinnamon tea sandwiches are so surprisingly delicious. I remember having these when I was younger, and they're even better as an adult. All the kiddos loved these and my sister and I literally could not stop snacking on them. With just 5 ingredients, making these little babies is a snap! I can't wait to make these for back to school lunches for me and the kiddos too!

    Great lunch for the kids

I'm always looking for something different for my kids lunches, especially at school time when I don't have the option to make them something hot at home. These tea sandwiches are the perfect option! They're filling and taste really special. For the kids, I usually leave out the pecans, or crush them up really small so they don't know they're there! So next time you're looking for a creative solution to the lunch time dilemma, these are seriously delicious! And the flavors remind me of the Fall when school is starting back up, too!

Ingredients for Cinnamon Orange Tea Sandwiches

    • Cream cheese — softened
    • Mandarin orange segments — from a can works great
    • Light brown sugar — more to taste
    • Chopped pecans — these are optional. Since my kiddos don't love nuts, I usually omit some for them.
    • Cinnamon swirl bread — or strawberry swirl bread works great too!

    Steps to make these sandwiches

    • Mix cream cheese, oranges, pecans (if using) and brown sugar together, crushing oranges with a fork as you mix.
    • Add more sugar to taste if needed. A little goes a long way.
    • Spread mixture on cinnamon swirl bread (with crusts removed, if wanted) and cut into triangles or desired shape.

Tea time for you and your kids is a great tradition

When I was a kid, my mom made these for a special tea party. I was always having tea parties as a kid. Anyone else? And now I love having tea with my kiddos and nieces. We make little sandwiches, little cakes, and delicious tea. We even went to a tea house nearby and had the most amazing tea time! All the (little and big) girls loved it!

My kids and I love to bake together, so we often make something in the morning and munch on it in the afternoon for our own "tea time". I have tea and the kids have chocolate milk or juice. It's such a great tradition and we all really look forward to it.

      5 stars
My five year old granddaughter had her birthday party yesterday and the theme was a Tea Party. I made these delightful little tea sandwiches and brought them to the party. (To be honest, I ate a lot of them before we got there.) My only changes were no nuts and half of the sandwiches were made with strawberry swirl bread. After assembling them, I put them in air tight containers and into the refrigerator overnight. I cut them into tiny strawberry triangles and tiny cinnamon squares the next morning. The picky kids in the group loved them. The adults couldn't stop raving about them. The kids wanted me to hire me to make those sandwiches at their houses. I'm taking that as a huge win. Everyone did say they liked the ones made with the strawberry bread more. Thanks for posting this recipe.

Oh I'm so happy they loved them! It reminds me of the many tea parties I had as a kid, too!
