No need to spend big bucks when you crave a Medicine Ball from Starbucks, or as it is called currently on their menu, Honey Citrus Mint Tea. This copycat recipe is a warm way to boost those days when you feel under the weather. Or like me whenever days are really cold which is basically October through May in the mountains outside Denver.

4 simple ingredients and snap to make means you can be enjoying this in under 5 minutes for a fraction of the price.

And while you are at it feel free to make this your own, increase or decrease the lemonade and honey to make it perfect for your taste buds.

This Medicine Ball is a great cold-buster too. The hot lemon and green tea make

Medicine Ball Ingredients

  • Green Tea Bag - use your favorite brand
  • Peach Tea Bag - our favorite is Celestial Seasonings Country Peach Passion, but use what you can find.
  • Lemonade (2 ounces = ¼ cup) - our favorite is Simply Lemonade made with just lemon, water and cane sugar.
  • Honey (or more to taste)
  • Hot Water (10 ounces = 1 ¼ cups)

How to make the Starbucks Copycat Medicine Ball

  • Heat up your water in a teapot and pour 10 ounces into a large mug with both the green and peach tea bags and honey. Allow them to steep for 4 minutes.
  • Heat the lemonade using a steam wand, microwave or in a saucepan on the stove. *
  • Remove the tea bags if desired, add warmed lemonade.
  • Give a quick stir, relax and enjoy.

Substitutions

There are a few ways to adjust this Medicine Ball Starbucks Copycat recipe to fit your preferences.

  • To make this recipe caffeine free, find a caffeine free green tea. Peach tea is herbal so its already free from caffeine.
  • Paleo or Whole30 - To adjust this recipe to comply with a paleo, AIP or Whole30 diet, swap the lemonade for fresh-squeezed lemons and increase the amount of honey to taste.

If you're looking for more amazing tea recipes, try our Dirty Iced Chai or London Fog. And for other caffeine free recipes, try our Pumpkin Spice Steamer.

Equipment

My parents have this instant Boiling Tea Kettle and I love it! We have instant hot water installed in our sink (it's amazing), but a regular tea kettle or the microwave work just fine too.

Storage

Make Ahead Instructions: Double this recipe or feel free to make a whole pitcher and heat as needed! This will keep fresh in the refrigerator for up to a week. It may need a quick stir before pouring since the honey might sink to the bottom.

Ingredients

  • 1 green tea bag
  • 1 peach tea bag
  • 2 ounces lemonade (2 ounces = ¼ cup)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or more to taste
  • 10 ounces hot water (10 ounces = 1 ¼ cups)

Instructions

  • Heat up your water in a teapot and pour into a 12 ounce mug with both the green and peach tea bags and honey. Allow them to steep for 4 minutes.
  • Heat the lemonade using a steam wand, microwave or in a saucepan on the stove. *
  • Remove the tea bags if desired, add warmed lemonade.
  • Give a quick stir, relax and enjoy.

Notes

*I often make this for my kids substituting for decaf tea and I do not warm the lemonade. Using the cold lemonade brings the temperature down so it is no longer extremely hot and they are able to enjoy it immediately.
